With 19 years of professional experience, Mr. Lin is Chairman & CEO of C Block Capital Group and runs an Asia hedge funds to focus on shareholder activism. He succeeded in raising US$200 MM by managing one of the largest Nasdaq-listed Special Purpose Acquisition Corporation (“SPAC”) sponsored by an Asian team. In addition, he advised and completed a US$2 billion reverse merger with another Nasdaq-listed SPAC. He invented the term and pioneered “friendly activism” investing – venture capital-style investing in the public markets focused on promoting better corporate governance and capital allocation. IPrior to that, He helped to manage institutional capital at global platforms such as Joho Capital, State Street Global Advisors, and Keywise Capital.
Prior to his investment career, he worked for Ernst & Young LLP in the U.S. for 3 years where he helped build Ernst & Young’s online tax consulting platform, one of the first offerings from the big-4 accounting firms. Mr. Lin earned an MBA in General Management from Harvard Business School. He was a U.S. CPA (inactive) and HK SFC Type 1, 4, 9 license-holder.
